This delightful bird appeared in our backyard today. [30 to 33 cm] He stayed for 2 hours pecking at the seed on the ground under the bird feeder and wandering around all over the yard investigating and stripping the seeds off the grass at the edge of the bush. |

He was not afraid of the other larger birds or of my husband who managed to get really close as can be seen in this photo. We hope he's a wild bird and not an escaped pet. He'd have a much better chance of survival if wild. |
