This photo was taken in our backyard. We'd never seen a Crested Pigeon before. They are not easy to photograph here as their heads are constantly moving up and down [picking up seed]. |

A group of 3 visits daily. They mingle happily with the other doves and birds. When they take off, their wings make an incredibly loud squeaking noise, much louder than the other doves. |
A beautiful bird, especially when the sun hits the metallic colours of green and purple on their wings. Also known as Topknot Pigeons. We'll keep trying for a better photo. 2008 - no success yet. |
